Columbia, SC — Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that the Columbia Regional Business Report has named Emily Luther among the 40 top business leaders under the age of 40 in the region. A panel of judges selected Emily because of her impact on Columbia’s business and civic community.
Emily is a partner in the firm’s Public Finance Practice Group, where she helps clients secure the financing they need to build infrastructure. Her clients include counties, cities, school districts, charter schools, and private colleges, as well as developers, manufacturers, financial institutions, and other private sector clients. She has advised on capital financing for a broad variety of projects, including water and sewer facilities, affordable housing developments, economic development sites, educational and health care facilities, and manufacturing plants. She also advises and assists nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations with federal and state tax and corporate law compliance.
In the community, Emily serves as board president of the South Carolina Philharmonic. Emily has been on the board since 2018. Aside from its live performances, the Philharmonic also provides education and outreach programs in the region. Emily was a founding member of the South Carolina Women’s Affordable Housing Network (WAHN), which has a mission to boost the number of affordable housing units across the state. SC WAHN also seeks to empower and develop women working in the affordable housing sector through networking and mentorship.
