Charlotte, NC — Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce LaToya Parker received the Extraordinary Bar & Foundation Service Award from the Mecklenburg County Bar and Mecklenburg Bar Foundation. LaToya was selected by the Mecklenburg County Bar’s executive board as an outstanding attorney who contributed extraordinary pro bono service to the Bar and the foundation in connection with recent real estate transactions. The award is given out on a rarer basis, the Bar emphasized.
LaToya worked closely with the Mecklenburg County Bar and Mecklenburg Bar Foundation over the last year as the organizations relocated office space. The foundation is a nonprofit and sister organization to the Mecklenburg County Bar and sits in the same office.
Working on a pro bono basis, LaToya represented the Bar in the negotiation of a lease for space in the historic Addison Building at the corner of East Morehead and South McDowell streets in Charlotte. The Bar and Foundation recently relocated to that space. LaToya also worked with the Bar in the sale of the Bar and Foundation Center property on Yellowstone Drive to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education.
LaToya is a real estate partner in Parker Poe’s Charlotte office, where she advises companies and individuals in the acquisition, sale, development, leasing, and financing of commercial real estate.
The Bar honored LaToya at its annual meeting on May 21.
