Samantha Lewis will be speaking on May 8 at LRP’s National Institute on Legal Issues of Educating Individuals With Disabilities conference in Savannah.
Samantha will discuss how recently issued Title IX regulations impact special education. Her discussion will go over what factors to consider when a Title IX issue involves emergency removals and supportive measures that could interfere with IEP services.
Samantha will also provide a plan for how to bridge the gap between Title IX and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) as well as Section 504 of Rehabilitation Act. She will discuss how to facilitate ongoing consultation between a school district’s Title IX coordinator and the special education team.
The LRP's National Institute is a trusted source for special educators by providing insights into legal issues around educating individuals with disabilities.
