Josh Morales, associate general counsel at Meta in their Reality Labs division, and Will Cannon, partner at Parker Poe and Technology Industry Team Leader, led a presentation on June 26 on how in-house counsel and outside law firms can work together in novel ways on product counseling as part of an Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Triangle Area fireside chat in Raleigh.

Will and Josh's presentation provided an overview of Reality Labs and the metaverse, which is a fourth dimension where you can access media on demand in the physical space you occupy. Will and Josh also delved into the history and current state of product counseling, or legal counsel that supports engineering and business teams in bringing new products to market.

Will and Josh discussed a new approach to in-house and outside counsel collaboration when it comes to bringing products to the market, including benefits like advising organizations in one legal voice, understanding product plans, priorities, and pain points, and assessing product risks.

The Research Triangle Area Chapter of the ACC provides a range of educational programs for in-house lawyers in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and surrounding areas in North Carolina.
