Alexandria Hill gave a presentation on conflicts of interest and federal procurement as part of the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners Summer Attorneys Conference in Wrightsville Beach.

Alexandria's presentation focused on how local governments can avoid conflicts of interest as they develop internal controls and a compliance framework for federal procurement. Local governments must stay up to date on regulations that are designed to identify, mitigate, and resolve apparent or actual conflicts when they arise, particularly with an increase in the number and quantity of grants available.

Alexandria also reviewed and identified the procurement procedures that reflect applicable federal law, among other updates.

The North Carolina Association of County Commissioners is a voice for counties in the state and provides resources to counties in the form of advocacy, research, risk management, and education and leadership training.
