Headquartered in Charlotte, the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture (Gantt Center) focuses on presenting, preserving, and celebrating excellence in the art, history, and culture of African Americans and people of African descent. It serves as a community epicenter for music, dance, theater, visual art, film, arts education programs, literature, and community outreach.
Remington’s three-year term on the board will involve leading the Gantt Center toward its fundraising goals related to new and long-standing art exhibitions and ensuring the center remains a noteworthy and relevant cultural site in Charlotte. The center puts on numerous community events throughout the year.
