Health care attorneys Robb Leandro and Deb Stern presented a webinar to the members of the North Carolina Assisted Living Association to discuss how an adult care home can prepare for and respond when a resident wanders from the facility unsupervised.
Robb and Deb provided recommendations on steps a facility can take to identify and minimize risks for wandering patients and best practices for responding when an elopement does occur.
Established in 1994, the North Carolina Assisted Living Association is a nonprofit trade association representing more than 350 providers who have approximately 15,000 assisted living residents in adult care homes and family care homes statewide.
