Charlotte, NC — Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Daniel Peterson was elected to serve on the board of directors for the North Carolina Association of Municipal Attorneys (NCAMA). Membership in the NCAMA is comprised of municipal attorneys from across the state. An affiliate of the North Carolina League of Municipalities, the NCAMA promotes a statewide continuity of institutional knowledge in municipal law practice by fostering communication and offering continuing education opportunities.
Each slate of the board of directors is recommended to the membership by a nominating committee and then elected by the membership at its annual meeting in August for a two-year term. Election to the board of directors is typically indicative of sustained service in municipal law for several years.
At Parker Poe, Daniel chairs the firm’s Government & Municipalities Industry Team in North Carolina. He currently serves as the appointed town attorney for Matthews and Midland, North Carolina, and was an assistant city attorney in the Charlotte City Attorney’s Office for over seven years prior to joining the firm. Throughout his 14-year career, Daniel has helped cities and towns throughout the state, advising them on achieving their public policy objectives and representing them in litigation, from the onset of a lawsuit in the trial courts through the appellate level.
