Shayla Wright and Lexi Trumble spoke about the shifting name, image, and likeness (NIL) landscape in collegiate athletics during a State Bar of Georgia Entertainment & Sports Law Section panel.

Shayla and Lexi focused on legal and operational challenges, best practices, and growth opportunities for athletics departments and their student-athletes. They also discussed the advent of NIL monetization, implications of the recently approved preliminary House settlement, state and federal-level guidance providing important guardrails for college and university operations, and effective advocacy and negotiation skills to set student-athletes up for success.
