MaryGrace Bell Kittrell gave an in-depth look at applied behavior analysis (ABA) for special education administrators as part of the 2024 G-CASE Fall Conference.
MaryGrace provided an overview of ABA as well as best practices for considering whether administrators should provide ABA services. She also discussed how to respond to parents’ requests and implement ABA methodology to avoid potential legal liability. She also provided an overview of the latest attitudes toward ABA and how courts are responding.
This year’s conference also included Parker Poe attorneys providing practical guidance on manifestation determinations under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) as well as a special education legal training.
The Georgia Council of Administrators of Special Education (G-CASE) aims to promote professional leadership and study problems common to its members with the goal of improving services to children with special needs.
