Charlotte, NC – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that it received the Corporate Allies for Justice award from the nonprofit Safe Alliance. The award is given to law firms that provide valuable pro bono services that help the organization secure agency longevity, sustainability, and corporate governance.
Based in Mecklenburg County, Safe Alliance’s mission is to support survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. It serves over 8,000 people each year, including through the 24/7 Greater Charlotte Hope Line, an 80-bed emergency shelter, legal support and advocacy, trauma counseling, and assistance with basic needs support.
Charlotte partner Brian Cromwell, the former board chair of Safe Alliance’s predecessor, United Family Services, leads the firm’s pro bono support of Safe Alliance. This support included advice, reviews, updates, and rewrites of the organization’s bylaws and supporting governance documents. Charlotte partner Nicholas Lee, who previously served on Safe Alliance’s Men for Change committee, accepted the award of the firm’s behalf.
