Parker Poe's Education Team Offers Insights to Georgia Council of Administrators of Special Education

Beth Morris, Reagan Sauls, Samantha Lewis, and MaryGrace Bell Kittrell provided insights and connected with educators from across Georgia at the spring conference of the Georgia Council of Administrators of Special Education (G-CASE). Parker Poe is a sponsor and supporter of G-CASE, which brings together special education leaders and professionals from across Georgia to address shared challenges and enhance services for students with disabilities.

Beth and Reagan provided practical insights on how to understand risk and apply AI in compliance with state and federal laws. They also hosted a round of "Legal Jeopardy," highlighting common issues and high-risk scenarios that school districts can face and offering tips to identify potential pitfalls before they become more problematic.

Samantha Lewis broke down the legal purpose and impact of prior written notice, helping education leaders understand what it must include, why it matters, and how clear, well‑crafted notices can reduce disputes and strengthen communication with families.

MaryGrace Bell Kittrell and Dr. Tris Gilland of Marietta City Schools explained how strong, proactive collaboration between school districts and their legal counsel can lead to better decision‑making and more effective governance. During their session, attendees gained insight into building productive partnerships that support district goals while navigating legal and operational challenges.

During the conference, Beth, Reagan, and MaryGrace were honored with the Friends of G‑CASE Award, recognizing their continued support of special education leaders across Georgia.
