Octapharma, the largest privately owned and independent plasma fractionator in the world, recently announced plans to establish its first-ever United States-based manufacturing and production site. The Swiss company's $1.5 billion project is expected to bring 1,500 full-time jobs to South Carolina, in the Southeast U.S. It is one of the largest private biomedical investments in South Carolina's history.
