Charlotte, NC – Tony Lathrop has been reappointed to serve on the North Carolina Board of Transportation for a new four-year term ending July 30, 2030. Tony was named chairman in 2025.
Tony first joined the board in 2017, and previously chaired its Finance Committee. He also served as an advisory member of the NC Department of Transportation’s NC FIRST (Future Investment Resources for Sustainable Transportation) Commission. As chairman, Tony leads the NC Board of Transportation, which provides oversight of the NC DOT, a state government agency responsible for building, managing, and maintaining all modes of transportation in the state. The board approves capital and maintenance spending and provides policy guidance.
