Robb Leandro gave a presentation on November 16 to the Coalition for the Preservation of Employment Choice. He presented alongside Julia Adams-Scheurich of Oak City Government Relations.

The presentation covered how Robb and Julia were able to turn back new policy initiatives that would have limited the service array that individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities would have for employment services. They discussed how they were successful at revising a memorandum of agreement between the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and Disability Rights North Carolina that would have eliminated adult developmental vocational programs (ADVPs) and restricted state Work Adjustment programs.

Robb and Julia also discussed how they proposed legislation to ensure ADVPs cannot be eliminated in the future. The legislation also requires Disability Rights North Carolina to submit reports to the General Assembly outlining the impact of its goals on individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Coalition for the Preservation of Employment Choice is a coalition of families, caregivers, and other stakeholders working to preserve employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
