Columbia, SC – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Columbia office leader Ray Jones has been named among the 50 most influential people of 2022 by Columbia Business Monthly. The honorees are selected through a process of staff research and community nominations.
Ray has advised on billions of dollars’ worth of bond transactions and economic development transactions in South Carolina and across the Southeast. He provides advice and counsel to a broad spectrum of clients in matters relating to public finance, local taxation, financing of affordable housing, and economic development. His clients include cities, counties, school districts, investment banks, financial institutions, public housing authorities, developers, and large to midsize corporations.
Ray has played a leading role in growing Parker Poe’s Columbia office over the past two decades. Today, the Columbia office has approximately 24 attorneys, 20 legal professionals, and 10 consultants who have deep relationships across South Carolina’s business, health care, and government sectors. In addition, his partners within the law firm elected him to serve on the firm’s board of directors from 2014 to 2017. He is a current member of the firm’s Policy & Planning Committee.
Ray is also deeply focused on serving the Columbia community. He has served as board chair of the Saluda Shoals Foundation and the March of Dimes South Carolina Chapter. He has also served on the board of directors for the South Carolina Economic Developers’ Association. He currently serves as vice chair of the board of trustees for the South Carolina Baptist Foundation and the board of directors for First Community Bank of South Carolina.
