Dylan Ray helps businesses with a wide range of tax issues. He regularly advises clients on qualifying for various tax credits, including investment tax credits (ITCs), new markets tax credits (NMTCs), and historic rehabilitation credits. He has particular experience representing solar developers and tax credit brokers in qualifying for and selling ITCs. He also advises clients on corporate formations, acquisitions, dispositions, and reorganizations.
Dylan also represents clients, including real estate developers and investors, in the tax and non-tax aspects of forming joint ventures and other investment vehicles.
In addition to his federal tax practice, Dylan provides state and local tax planning and represents clients in tax controversies before the North Carolina Business Court and the North Carolina Supreme Court, with an emphasis on corporate income, franchise, and sales tax.
Outside of his tax work, Dylan assists the firm’s Sports & Entertainment Industry Team on various aspects of commercial contracts and other agreements. Dylan earned his master’s in tax law from New York University (NYU) and his law degree from Wake Forest University. He earned a master's degree and a bachelor's degree in political science from Appalachian State University.
