Supreme Court Upholds Idaho's Ban on Payroll Deductions for Union Political Activities

Ellis R. Lesemann, a partner in the Litigation Department of Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP, has been appointed to serve as Chair of the Lowcountry Food Bank Board of Directors. The mission of the Lowcountry Food Bank is to feed the hungry of the ten coastal counties of South Carolina by soliciting and distributing food and grocery products to nonprofit agencies serving the poor and by educating the public about the problems of and solutions to domestic hunger. It serves as a clearinghouse for donated food products that are distributed to a network of more than 416 member agencies including soup kitchens, homeless shelters and emergency food pantries.

Mr. Lesemann focuses his practice on the litigation of disputes involving business, construction, real property and employment issues. He has experience in all stages of litigation, including numerous jury trials and appeals. In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Lesemann also counsels clients regarding all aspects of commercial and construction contracts and employment relationships.

Mr. Lesemann received his JD, IMBA and BA from the University of South Carolina. He is a member of the Young Carolinians Steering Committee, South Carolina Historical Society. In 2006, Mr. Lesemann was named to the Charleston Regional Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” list.
