Parker Poe’s Litigation Team Adds Three New Attorneys

(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP announced today that Bradley K. Overcash, Collier R. Marsh and Sye T. Hickey have joined the Firm’s Litigation Department.

Brad Overcash is Counsel in Parker Poe’s Charlotte office. He handles a broad range of issues that arise in tort and insurance practice. His clients include hospitals, physicians, nurses, allied medical professionals, medical device manufacturers and their insurers. Mr. Overcash also has experience representing clients in nursing home/long term care defense litigation. Before joining Parker Poe, Mr. Overcash worked with a regional law firm practicing in the areas of medical malpractice defense, nursing home/long term care defense and general litigation. He served as the managing attorney for that firm’s Charlotte office from 2011-2013.

Mr. Overcash received his BS in 2003 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his JD, cum laude, in 2006 from the University of Mississippi School of Law.

Sye Hickey is an Associate in Parker Poe’s Charlotte office. He will concentrate his practice in commercial litigation and government and internal investigations. Mr. Hickey previously worked in Washington, D.C. as a congressional intern in the office of former United States Senator Jim Bunning (R-KY). While attending the law school, he served as a prosecutorial extern in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Tennessee.

Mr. Hickey received his BA in 2009 from the University of Kentucky and his JD in 2013 from the University of Tennessee, where he was a research editor for the Tennessee Law Review and a member of Transactions: The Tennessee Journal of Business Law. He also served as a class representative for the Student Bar Association.

Collier Marsh is an Associate in Parker Poe’s Raleigh office. He will concentrate his practice on products liability, professional negligence and insurance coverage and defense, wrongful death and serious personal injury defense. Mr. Marsh previously served as a law clerk for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky and the Office of the Attorney General of Kentucky. During law school, Mr. Marsh was a certified legal intern for the University of Kentucky Legal Clinic, where he advised disadvantaged individuals on a variety of legal matters.

Mr. Marsh received his BA from the University of Virginia in 2008 and his JD in 2013 from the University of Kentucky College of Law, where he was editor-in-chief of the Kentucky Journal of Equine, Agriculture, and Natural Resources Law.
