(CHARLOTTE, N.C.)—Sarah Fulton Hutchins will serve a second term as secretary of the board of directors for Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina (PCANC). She will work with fellow executive officers to lead a team of statewide volunteers dedicated to child well-being and family strengthening efforts across North Carolina.
Ms. Hutchins is an attorney in Parker Poe’s Charlotte office and a member of the Antitrust, Business Torts & White Collar Group. She practices in the area of commercial litigation, with a particular focus on competition and consumer protection law, business torts - including trade secret litigation, fraud and tortious interference claims - and white collar crime investigation and defense.
Ms. Hutchins has been actively involved with PCANC since 2010 when she joined the external relations committee. Her dedication to serving children and families began much earlier, however. As an undergraduate at Vanderbilt University, Ms. Hutchins raised $40,000 for Prevent Child Abuse Tennessee (PCAT) while serving as philanthropy chair for the Beta Tau Chapter of Kappa Delta sorority. She was the recipient of PCAT’s Community Servant Award for 2004.
In addition to her work with PCANC, Ms. Hutchins is active in the Mecklenburg County Bar and serves on the Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Training Panel for the Western District of North Carolina.
Ms. Hutchins received her JD in 2008 from the College of William and Mary and her BA, cum laude, in 2004 from Vanderbilt University.
