(CHARLOTTE, N.C.)—John R. Hairr III, a Partner in the Charlotte office of Parker Poe, has been elected to the North Carolina Wildlife Federation’s (NCWF) board of directors. The NCWF is the state’s oldest and largest statewide wildlife conservation organization.
“The North Carolina Wildlife Federation has prospered from the dedicated and excellent volunteer service of many fish and wildlife conservationists over the years,” states Tim Gestwicki, the organization’s CEO. “Our sterling reputation and substantial accomplishments in the field of fish and wildlife conservation are directly attributable to the outstanding quality of the organization's leadership and we are delighted to have the skills and expertise of our newest board members."
Mr. Hairr has more than 20 years of experience advising clients engaged in a full range of domestic and cross-border business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, auction-type divestitures, spinoffs, restructurings, and alternatives to traditional M&A transactions such as joint ventures and strategic alliances. Mr. Hairr also advises clients with respect to debt and equity financings, including acquisition financings, and regularly provides counsel on various general commercial, securities, franchise, and real estate matters. His clients include domestic and foreign FORTUNE 500 corporations, closely-held companies, entrepreneurial start-ups and local governments.
In addition to his work with the NCWF, Mr. Hairr currently serves on the American Bar Association – Project Management Task Force and Model Shareholders Agreement Task Force. He also serves on the advisory board of the First Presbyterian Child Development Center. Mr. Hairr was previously a board member of the Catawba Lands Conservancy and the Lupus Foundation of America – Piedmont chapter.
He received his JD in 1990 from Duke University and his BA in 1987 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
