The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration recently released its list of the top ten most frequently cited safety violations for fiscal year 2014, which concluded on September 30. The list, starting with the most frequent basis for workplace citations, is as follows:
- Fall protection
- Hazard communication
- Scaffolding
- Respiratory protection
- Lockout/Tagout
- Powered industrial trucks
- Electrical – Wiring methods
- Ladders
- Machine guarding
- Electrical – General requirements
The list did not change much from the prior fiscal year. It demonstrates OSHA’s areas of emphasis for workplace safety audits.
