Kay Hobart was quoted in Tax Notes on the North Carolina Supreme Court's Kaestner ruling, which struck down North Carolina's taxation of a trust. 

“This is a significant case with potential ramifications beyond the taxation of trusts,” Kay said in the article. “Of particular interest is the court’s focus on separate legal entities and its refusal to impute the contacts of the beneficiaries to the trust.”
