Charlotte, N.C. – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Sarah Hutchins has been elected as chair of the Humane Society of Charlotte’s board of directors. Sarah served as vice chair last year and has been on the board since 2015.

The Humane Society’s mission is to provide effective, innovative services that strengthen the human-animal bond and improve the lives of animals and the people who care about them. Part of Sarah’s duties as board chair will be to continue guiding the nonprofit through a capital campaign. She has already played an important role in that campaign by providing financial and fiscal analysis at the board level.

“Sarah brings an astute business and legal acumen and a deep passion for the community to everything she does for us,” says Shelly Moore, CEO of the Humane Society of Charlotte. “She has played a critical role in helping us make a difference in the lives of countless families and their pets in the region.”

Sarah’s term as board chair will last through calendar year 2021. Her commitment to community service is part of the reason the Charlotte Business Journal named her among the 40 top business leaders under the age of 40 this past year.
