Charlotte, N.C. – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce the election of four new partners for 2020. Steve Carey in Raleigh, Jeff Morris and Jordan Temple in Charlotte, and Taylor Stair in Charleston were voted into the firm’s partnership.
Steve Carey's practice focuses on complex litigation and appeals, regulatory counseling, and government enforcement matters. He represents companies, financial institutions, municipalities and local governments, universities, health care providers, and individuals in high-stakes litigation and regulatory actions, including class actions. Steve also advises clients in connection with government investigations and enforcement matters, including financial institutions, business associations, automobile lenders, and major universities.
Jeff Morris represents clients in matters involving trusts, estate planning, estate administration, and taxation, including achieving and maintaining tax-exempt status. He is a North Carolina State Bar board certified specialist in estate planning and probate law. He practices in the areas of federal and state income, estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer taxes. His practice also includes providing guidance for specific issues related to partnerships, S corporations, and limited liability companies.
Jordan Temple advises public and private companies in a variety of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, public and private offerings of debt and equity securities, and securities law compliance. He was part of the team at Parker Poe that represented Sonic Financial Corporation in its deal last year to acquire all outstanding shares of Speedway Motorsports Inc., a publicly traded company that is a national leader in motorsports entertainment, with an enterprise value of more than $1 billion.
Taylor Stair focuses his practice in the areas of construction litigation and complex commercial litigation. He represents developers, homebuilders, contractors, and owners with pre-construction, construction, and post-construction issues. Taylor has extensive experience with complex construction claims involving multifamily and single-family residential dwellings, as well as commercial properties. Additionally, he offers non-litigation support for construction clients and provides legal advice related to emerging industry issues.
