Scott Bayzle presented at Parker Poe's Carolinas Business Litigation Year in Review. Scott provided an overview of significant trends in class action litigation, which is continuing to increase in the Carolinas. He noted that data privacy, employment, and consumer fraud were frequent focuses of class actions in 2019, and he explained that health care, life sciences, financial services, and telecommunications are among the areas that plaintiffs are targeting in 2020. Scott provided strategic tips for how businesses can navigate class actions and mitigate risks related to them.

The Carolinas Business Litigation Year in Review in Charlotte also included Parker Poe attorneys providing a review of significant business cases from 2019, as well as a breakdown of discovery issues that can keep in-house counsel up at night. In addition, North Carolina Chief Justice Cheri Beasley discussed trends playing out in the state's judicial system.
