Parker Poe Webinar

    Speaking Engagements
  • April 06, 2020

Parker Poe hosted a webinar April 6 on the multitude of novel challenges local governments have faced as employers since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Foremost among these challenges may be the dramatic changes in state and federal employment law and guidance. Mac McCarley and Tory Summey addressed those changes and other updates for local governments, including:

  • The latest guidance on health and safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
  • The Families First Coronavirus Response Act, including considerable new guidance from the U.S. Labor Department.
  • Relevant portions of the CARES Act.
  • Unemployment benefits that may be available to employees.
