Raleigh, NC – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Drew Hargrove has joined the firm’s Raleigh office and will help clients navigate the increasingly dynamic requirements of environmental regulations. He joins Parker Poe from the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), where he served as assistant general counsel for almost a decade.
In his role at DEQ, Drew provided legal advice regarding state and federal environmental laws, especially as it relates to permitting, compliance, and enforcement. Relatedly, he routinely coordinated with other state and federal agencies regarding implementation of environmental programs. He also drafted and reviewed court filings, legislation, regulations, and guidance documents and worked with DEQ’s grant funding programs and procurement services.
In addition, Drew serves on the leadership council of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Environment, Energy & Natural Resources Law Section. His title at Parker Poe is counsel.

Drew earned his law degree and bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to attending law school, Drew worked in the investment industry. His investment experience includes administering over $300 million in investment funds, becoming a registered financial advisor and providing investment advice to individuals and small businesses, and preparing due diligence for private equity deals.
