Amanda Williams discussed the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) and new regulations that will go into effect on June 18, 2024, on Employment Matters, the podcast from the Employment Law Alliance.
Last month, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission unveiled the regulations and accompanying interpretative guidance, which provide clarity to employers and workers about who is protected, the types of limitations and medical conditions covered, and numerous concrete examples.
Amanda provided insights on the types of limitations related to pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions that employees may face, as well as how employers should handle requests for accommodation.
