LaToya Parker presented a panel on May 17 as part of the North Carolina Bar Association's 2024 Real Property Section annual meeting in Asheville.
LaToya discussed how rising transaction costs in commercial real estate deals may tempt a buyer to forego a comprehensive approach to performing due diligence on subject property. LaToya provided an overview of the potential pitfalls of doing so and the "why" behind the types of due diligence recommended in the standard commercial real estate transaction.
This year's annual meeting also included Parker Poe attorneys discussing tenant bankruptcy and real estate fund formation and management.
