Michael Kelley presented a panel on May 18 as part of the North Carolina Bar Association's 2024 Real Property Section annual meeting in Asheville.
Michael discussed how real estate is an attractive investment strategy for numerous sponsors, investment managers, and investors globally. He provided insights into the structuring, formation and operation of U.S. and international real estate funds as well as the construction, financing, operation, leasing and use of these assets. He covered issues around tax, marketing and regulatory requirements arising from real estate funds.
This year's annual meeting also included Parker Poe attorneys discussing tenant bankruptcy and due diligence pitfalls.
