Washington, DC – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) has named Joel Schwartz to its board of directors. Founded in 1958, the NACDL is a professional bar association that has over 10,000 members, including private criminal defense lawyers, public defenders, law professors, active U.S. military defense counsel, and judges.
The organization seeks to advance the mission of the country’s criminal defense lawyers to ensure justice and due process for people accused of crime or other misconduct.
Joel is a former public defender and federal prosecutor who advises clients at Parker Poe on white collar criminal defense, civil enforcement, and congressional and special investigations. With over 30 years of legal experience, clients turn to Joel for his ability to navigate negotiations and litigation in high profile, highly complex cases. He advises clients across a range of areas, including health care, consumer safety, corruption, government contracting, export control, financial services, and corporate fraud.
Joel will serve a three-year term on the NACDL board.
