Charlotte, NC – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Dena King has been named to the board of directors for Safe Alliance. The Charlotte-based nonprofit organization’s mission is to support survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. It serves over 8,000 people each year, including through the 24/7 Greater Charlotte Hope Line, an 80-bed emergency shelter, legal support and advocacy, trauma counseling, and assistance with basic needs support.
As a member of the board, Dena will help ensure fiscal accountability and sustainability of the organization. She joins business leaders from across the region that represent a variety of industries, including health care, finance, and government.
At Parker Poe, Dena is a litigator and former federal prosecutor who brings nearly two decades of experience in federal and state courts counseling clients on white collar defense, government and internal investigations, and compliance best practices. Dena advises clients across a range of industries, including financial services, health care, and education, and represents them in encounters with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and other prosecutors and regulators.
