Atlanta, GA – Harold E. (Hal) Gill Jr. has joined Parker Poe, where he will strengthen the firm's real estate and finance services for clients across the Southeast and contribute to the strategic growth of the Atlanta office.

Hal has developed a multifaceted real estate and finance practice over the course of his 40-year career. He represents numerous national, regional, and local banks throughout the Southeast in closing loans secured by commercial real estate, as well as loans secured by the business assets of corporate borrowers.

Hal also maintains a significant practice focused on the closing and subsequent development of land assemblages for residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects. In addition, a variety of companies and investors across industry sectors turn to Hal as outside counsel.

Hal has devoted significant time to civic, charitable, and church activities throughout his career. He is a past board member of the J.M. Tull-Gwinnett Family YMCA and has served as a Presbyterian deacon and elder. Additionally, he is a Georgia deputy commissioner of the Clan Campbell Society, North America, and he participates in Scottish Festivals throughout the Southeast in this role.

Hal joins Parker Poe from Stites & Harbison, where he served as the Atlanta Office Executive Member. Under his leadership, the firm's Atlanta office experienced significant growth.

"Hal adds immediate value for our clients and our firm," said Atlanta Office Development Partner Ellen Smith. "He expands our bandwidth and enhances how we can serve clients with commercial real estate transactions. He also brings deep strategic insight into how to grow in Atlanta, which fits with our emphasis on the right growth in this market driven by our clients' needs."

"I am thrilled to join Parker Poe," Hal said. "Parker Poe’s emphasis on transactional work in general, and its strong banking and capital markets practice in particular, attracted me to the firm. Additionally, due to the explosive growth of the Atlanta-Greenville-Charlotte corridor, more and more of my deals involve North and South Carolina real estate. I expect that my clients and my practice will benefit greatly from my move to Parker Poe."
