Greenville, SC – Yusuf Hasan has joined Parker Poe as counsel in the firm's Greenville office. He brings approximately 10 years of experience in U.S. and international patent prosecution, patent portfolio management, and intellectual property (IP) strategy.

Yusuf has advised clients ranging from Fortune 50 corporations to startups, including in relation to complex machinery, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI), and other technologies. He frequently counsels clients on patentability and infringement opinions, freedom-to-operate analyses, and trademark prosecution.

He began his career as a test and validation systems engineer, working for over a decade in the aerospace and automotive industries. That experience informs his counsel today as he helps clients understand the various avenues available to build and protect their IP portfolio within their schedule, scope, and cost targets.

"I’m delighted to bring my IP and technical experience to Parker Poe," Yusuf said. "I look forward to joining the fantastic people who have established the firm’s reputation for delivering strategic, client-focused counsel across a range of sophisticated legal and business needs."

"I’m very excited to have Yusuf join Parker Poe and our IP Team," said team leader and Greenville partner Amy Allen Hinson. "He brings strong experience in U.S. and international patent and IP strategy, along with deep technical knowledge in complex technologies that are central to our clients' businesses. His prior engineering background in the aerospace and automotive industries will further strengthen our ability to help clients protect and strategically manage valuable innovations."

Yusuf also has broader experience in international trade compliance. In a prior role, he partnered with business leaders, engineers, and supply chain teams to mitigate compliance risk while enabling research and development (R&D) advancement for defense and commercial propulsion system technology. He worked most recently at Dority & Manning before joining Parker Poe.

Yusuf received his law degree from the University of Connecticut and his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Kettering University.
