Robert Botkin published a column in Business North Carolina about the most common mistakes the state's business leaders get wrong when it comes to artificial intelligence (AI) adoption and strategy. 

"The strategic mistakes I see most often in this work are not about the technology but instead about how leadership thinks about it," Robert wrote in the column.

Robert's column examined scaling pilot programs before pressure-testing failure cases, operating under vendor contracts signed before AI tools were introduced, waiting for North Carolina or federal AI law, and focusing on customer-facing AI risk and ignoring HR risk.
