Charlotte, N.C. – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that The Mecklenburg Times has named Sarah Hutchins to its list of “50 Most Influential Women.” Sarah was recognized for her commitment to Charlotte’s cultural, legal, and business communities.

The Mecklenburg Times created the 50 Most Influential Women awards to spotlight the important role women play in the greater Charlotte region, its economy, and society. The winners are nominated and judged by their peers, with an emphasis on community leadership and influence.

Sarah recently chaired the board of directors for the Humane Society of Charlotte. She helped lead the nonprofit through a major capital campaign and the first year of the coronavirus pandemic, while still hitting the gold standard for animal shelters: a 90% live release rate citywide. She has also served on the board of directors for McColl Center for Art + Innovation since 2015. She has helped McColl Center navigate the pandemic as well as significant changes to its governance, bylaws, and organizational structure.

Sarah is a leader in the legal community as well. She served on the Mecklenburg County Bar Foundation’s board of directors from 2017 to last year. In that role, she also helped advance public understanding of the law and supported the charitable and educational goals of the Mecklenburg County Bar. She has also previously served on the board of directors for the Mecklenburg County Bar itself.

In addition, Sarah leads Parker Poe’s recruiting efforts and serves on the firm’s Professional Review and Community Service Committees.

Sarah is the third Parker Poe partner in recent years that The Mecklenburg Times has named among Charlotte’s 50 most influential women. Ashley Edwards and Shalanna Pirtle have also received that honor.
