Robert Osborne, Corri Hopkins, and Chris Henry presented at Parker Poe's Carolinas Business Litigation Year in Review. Robert provided an overview of South Carolina Business Court and cases impacting businesses, including the negligent selection of independent contractors.

Corri presented an overview of privilege issues in North Carolina, including attorney-client privilege, joint representation, common interest agreements, and judicial proceeding privilege. Corri also presented on attorneys' fees and other sanctions in North Carolina.

Chris provided an overview of restrictive covenants, including non-competes and no-poach agreements in North Carolina and discussed proposed rules and legislation from 2023. He provided practical takeaways for businesses when it comes to the North Carolina framework of restrictive covenants and noncompetes. 

The Carolinas Business Litigation Year in Review also included Parker Poe attorneys discussing the importance for businesses to communicate between departments about legal and technology initiatives, as well as a question-and-answer session with a retired North Carolina Business Court judge.
